Baotou is opening urban park green spaces to better meet the needs of residents when it comes to outdoor activities such as camping, playing sports, and relaxing.
The urban park green spaces are required to include complete public service facilities, including seats, convenient water intake points, garbage classification and recycling bins, toilets and other facilities.
Additionally, green spaces with abundant native plants and beautiful green landscapes are preferred.
In total, 13 green space pilot projects are being carried out, including two at Olympic Park, two at Saikhantal urban grassland, one at Labor Park, one at Arden Botanical Garden, one at Jinlin Park, and six at several other parks and greenbelts in six districts.
The city has opened a total of 68,000 square meters of shared green space to accommodate 150 tents. The shared green space will be equipped with signboards to tell residents where tents can be placed.
