The Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently announced the second group of 57 national-level tourist and leisure blocks, which included the Qiaojia Golden Street tourist and leisure block.
Qiaojia Golden Street is a symbol of the commercial prosperity of old Baotou and features architecture from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
The block is the only immersive block of its kind in Baotou that integrates culture, history, ancient architecture, leisure and entertainment.
On the main street, there are 15 merchants representing different intangible cultural heritages – two of which are Inner Mongolia autonomous region-level heritages, two of which are Baotou municipal-level heritages, and 11 of which are Donghe district-level heritages.
Through an array of activities such as intangible cultural heritage workshops and exhibitions, the block provides a great experience for visitors and displays Baotou's characteristic cultural and creative goods to domestic and foreign tourists.
