Baotou is a famous industrial city in China. The nuclear fuel of China's first tank, first anti-aircraft gun, first atomic bomb and first hydrogen bomb were produced here.

In 2021 and 2022, the city was designated by the National Development and Reform Commission as a city with remarkable achievements in the adjustment and transformation of old industrial bases and the promotion of industrial transformation and upgrading, and was praised by the State Council.

"Baotou will develop the photovoltaic equipment manufacturing industry throughout the industrial chain, and strengthen strategic emerging industries such as the wind power equipment industrial cluster," said Zhang.
