Baogang's rail exported to EU
"A special train carrying 50 meters of rail provided by Baogang Group in Baotou for the Hungary-Serbia Railway has departed," said a train dispatcher, as the first batch of 1700 metric tons of rail were exported to Europe on March 7.
The rails will be used to reconstruct the Hungary-Serbia Railway. The major infrastructure project is intended to promote the construction of the "Belt and Road" Initiative under the China and Central and East Europe cooperation mechanism and is also the first railway project to be built in the European Union by China.
In November 2022, Baogang won the bid to supply rail for the project, and will provide a total of 22,635 tons of customized rail.
Baogang completed the static load, impact and braking tests in the middle of February this year, according to the shipping requirements of the 50 meters of rail proposed by the project.
"Next, we will further strive to expand the export share of European and American standard rails and make rails produced by Baogang famous around the world," said Guo Lihong, senior technical director of the Baogang Rail and Beam Plant.
