The first-painting ceremony of a 50-meter-long scroll named Beautiful Baotou was held in the city on March 20.

Sun Liangli, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, was the primary painter.

A total of 50 famous artists from inside and outside the city will work together to paint Baotou landscapes in the coming month, and the final work will be displayed at the Baotu Olympic Sports Center, along with a number of other hand scrolls painted by the 50 artists.

"Within the 50-meter scroll, there will be 53 iconic landscapes, all of which should be clearly recognizable to Baotou residents or those familiar with Baotou," Sun said.

"The long scroll has strong regional characteristics and a distinct theme. In particular, it is a rare event as a spontaneous folk-art activity," said Xu Jixian, a famous painter in the city.
