The Inner Mongolia Wind Power and Energy Storage Industry Cluster Development Conference was held in Baotou on April 14. Some 116 representatives from enterprises in the fields of new energy, wind power equipment, and energy storage attended the event.
At the meeting, 60 upstream and downstream industrial enterprises involved in the new energy industry signed 78 purchase intention agreements.
"The convening of the conference provides us with a rare opportunity and lays a very good foundation for the construction of a service ecosystem for the whole new energy industry chain," said Tian Fei, deputy general manager of the Beijing Branch of Cosco Shipping Logistics Supply Chain Co.
The exploitable amount of wind energy resources in Inner Mongolia is 1.46 billion kilowatts, accounting for 57 percent of the national total, and the exploitable amount of solar energy resources is 9.4 billion kw, accounting for 21 percent of the national total.
At present, Baotou is aiming to build a new energy equipment manufacturing base, closely surrounding all application scenarios that are related to carbon reduction, which includes wind, solar, and hydrogen energy.
"We will encourage more and more enterprises from inside and outside of the autonomous region to cooperate in order to accelerate the formation of wind power and energy storage industrial clusters," said Bai Guosheng, deputy director of the Baotou bureau of industry and information technology.
