A press conference for the 2023 Baotou Marathon was held in Baotou on April 20.

The Baotou Marathon, one of the city's major events this year, will open its registration channels on May 1, while the actual event will take place on June 23.

The race will set up three marathon categories: full, half and mini. The event will start and finish at the west gate of the Baotou Olympic Center, and routes will connect to the Saikhantal Grasslands and other landscapes around Baotou.

A total of 23 medical aid stations, 330 medical workers, and over 2,000 volunteers will provide services at the event.

According to Cui Xiaojing, director of the Baotou sports bureau, Baotou successfully held the first Baotou International Marathon in 2019, and it was rated as the most beautiful track event by the Chinese Athletics Association.

"Baotou is restarting the marathon event after four years. We will also hold a marathon series from August to November to further develop the Running Baotou brand," Cui said.

It is also reported that during the marathon event period, runners can visit all of the city's scenic spots and take buses for free.
