Baotou land port promotes digital operation
The Western Digital Land Port in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is similar to a logistics transfer station along a highway.
Its operation model is simple – new energy trucks transport containers of coal to the port, where they are loaded and distributed to power plants.
There are two new features in the port: containers and new-energy trucks.
The new containers are equipped with intelligent sensing devices, which record information such as how heavy the load is, where the load came from, and who the contact person of the shipment is.
The new energy trucks are equipped with GPS devices and heavy loading equipment, which make loading and unloading controllable and reliable. This ensures that no vehicle will be loaded incorrectly and no coal will be lost.
Relying on these new features, coal transportation has realized environmental protection capabilities and a closed transportation system. In this way, the queuing time for loading and unloading coal is shortened. Additionally, this new process is energy saving and shows indications of emission reduction.
Additionally, the operation model of the port not only improves efficiency for power plants, but also strengthens control for traders and logistics companies.
Moving forwards, the operation model of the Western Digital Land Port will be promoted in the Hohhot, Baotou and Odors and Wuhai regions, and the green port network will become more extensive throughout Inner Mongolia.
