Baotou aluminum park off to strong start in Q1

Updated: 2023-05-06

As of the first quarter of the year, Baotou Aluminum Industrial Park has introduced 17 projects with more than 100 million yuan ($14.47 million) in investment respectively, attracting over 2 billion yuan in new fixed-asset investment.

Major projects in the industrial park are being accelerated. At the construction site of Weike (Inner Mongolia) New Material Technology Co, steel structure hoisting is being done for the 200,000-metric-ton lightweight high-end aluminum alloy intensive processing project.

Zhang Guangping, general manager of the company, said, "In the later stage of the project, all 200,000 tons of high-end alloy will be deeply processed and turned into new energy photovoltaic component products, as well as the structural profiles and parts products of new energy vehicles."

This will further extend the aluminum industry chain and help reduce carbon emissions in the product terminal application field.

It is reported that the total investment of the project is 2 billion yuan, with its total output value expected to reach 8 billion yuan after the completion of the project.

"At present, a large number of projects are speeding up their construction, and the overall momentum of the park is going strong," said Wu Zhenzhong, head of the investment promotion department of the industrial park.
