Baotou's banner achieves intelligent farming

Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner, Baotou, is currently in the crucial sowing season, where modern agricultural mechanization equipment is being utilized in full force across the fields.

At Mengsheng Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Professional Cooperative, in the banner, agricultural machine operators set the sowing parameters through a user-friendly human-computer interactive interface. Equipped with Beidou navigation automatic driving system, the large tractors move forward along the designated routes, seamlessly completing fertilization, seeding, and soil covering operations in a single pass.

"I plan to plant 1,800 mu (120 hectares) of potatoes this year using the navigation automatic driving system. Compared to traditional manual planting, which can only cover around 60 or 70 mu a day, the agricultural machines equipped with the Beidou system now enable them to plant more than 100 mu daily," Lu Yongwang, head of the cooperative, said.

"Since the installation of the Beidou intelligent supervisory terminal device, farmers can conveniently monitor their farming areas and progress through their mobile phones," stated an official from the rural pastoral area social affairs development center of the banner.

The banner has placed great emphasis on agricultural modernization and actively promotes the use of various intelligent agricultural machinery and equipment. This concerted effort propels agriculture towards greater scale, intensification, and enhanced efficiency.

As of 2023, the banner has installed 47 Beidou monitors for agricultural production. Consequently, intelligent machinery has ploughed approximately 450,000 mu of land, showcasing the remarkable strides made in agricultural automation and technology.
