Baogang's heat-treated rail chosen for Mexico's railway construction
In a significant achievement for Baogang Group's rail and beam factory, its No 2 production line recently completed the manufacturing of approximately 2,300 metric tons of 115RE low-alloy heat-treated rail. This high-strength rail is set to be exported to Mexico for the construction of the Maya Railway, marking Baogang's entry into the league of domestic enterprises producing top-quality heat-treated rail.
The specific batch of rail is designated for a branch line of the expansive Maya Railway network. This branch line, designed for both passengers and cargo transportation, is expected to handle an impressive annual cargo weight of approximately 160 million tons.
Customers put forward higher requirements for the strength and hardness of the rail after heat treatment, and the delivery deadline is tight.
In order to meet the needs of customers, the factory mobilized its team of engineers and technical personnel to carefully study and analyze the size of the rail and heat-treated characteristics. Key processes such as heating, rolling, and online cooling were closely controlled and monitored.
The factory realized the first stable mass production of American standard 115RE low-alloy heat-treated high-strength rail in the shortest time, which enriched the rail structure of Baogang.
