CCTV reports Baotou's vocational skills event

"Baotou, Inner Mongolia: 27,000 Workers Compete in Professional Skills" was the headline of a recent report by CCTV-4 China News.

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China is home to more than 60 million highly skilled personnel. Since May, various vocational skills competitions have been in full swing in many cities.

In Qingshan district of Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the first vocational skills competition was launched on May 8, with 27,000 contestants from 966 enterprises and public institutions participating.

The competition focused on 26 projects in 10 fields, especially set-up competition projects of the advanced silicon industry in combination with the government deployment of Baotou to create the "world's silicon capital." In the final competition on May 12, forklift operation, quality inspection project, and new farmers' show projects were also carried out.
