Baotou paper-cutting works displayed in Beijing
The Beijing leg of the national exhibition of Baotou paper-cutting opened at Meilanfang Memorial Hall on May 26. The event will last for one month.
It is reported that Baotou paper-cutting formed a complete set of artistic expression methods in the long-term mutual influence of nomadic grassland culture and the central plains farming culture. In 2011, Baotou paper-cutting was included in the China Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The exhibition showcases the outstanding works of many representative inheritors of Baotou paper-cutting, such as the works of Zheng Hudie, a representative inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage.
Based on inheriting the tradition, Zheng created a series of works with essential national unity and ecological protection themes.
The Baotou paper-cutting donation ceremony was also held on that day. Zheng, Liu Xiaodi, the representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage at the Inner Mongolia autonomous region level, and other inheritors donated paper-cutting works of Mei Lanfang's stage art and traditional Baotou paper-cutting works to Meilanfang Memorial Hall.
