Baotou has promoted deep integration of innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains since this year.

Highlight dominant position of enterprises in scientific innovation

This year, the municipal government has helped enterprises to apply for 16 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 214 Inner Mongolia autonomous region-level sci-tech projects, and 11 special projects for Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, winning 97.2 million yuan ($13.66 million) of special funds for sci-tech.

Ninety-nine enterprises were recently recommended and approved as leading sci-tech enterprises and R&D centers within the autonomous region. They also underwent evaluation as national small and medium-sized sci-tech enterprises.

Introduce new measures to provide services for scientific innovation

Since the beginning of this year, the city has sent 600 special commissioners on sci-tech to enterprises and solved 296 problems.

Eleven sci-tech exchange activities were held in the city, more than 30 experts and over 200 enterprises were invited, and ten cooperation intentions were reached.

Expand ways to attract talents

Baotou has recommended 17 individuals to apply for the 2023 National Leading Innovation Talents, Leading Entrepreneurship Talents, and National Top Young talents. In addition, two teams from Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries Group Co have been recommended for the titles of Leading Talent Team and Leading Youth Talent Team at the autonomous region level, with the aim of obtaining the special fund of 4 million yuan.
