Shipment of Mandula Port exceeds 2 million tons
From Jan 1 to June 1, the shipment of Mandula Port in Baotou reached 2 million metric tons, an increase of 372.5 percent over the same period in history. In the first four months, the port's import and export trade value reached 1.9 billion yuan ($267.04 million), an increase of 543 percent.
Mandula Port is the only land port open to the northern countries in the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos city cluster, which undertakes a vital role in opening-up and promoting regional economic development.
Many customs clearance processes can be handled online, the process is reduced, and customs clearance is quicker.
"Several days ago, my company exported a batch of second-hand cars. We declared at over 4 o'clock and left the country at 5 o'clock," said Yin Ge from Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner Kaifeng Customs Co.
At the same time as squeezing the customs clearance time, Mandula Port has also built and operated a smart terminal information platform in its supervision place, realizing the hierarchical display of dynamic and static data of transport vehicles, bayonets, and supervision equipment.
At present, the port is promoting the construction of H986 large-scale cargo inspection equipment and exploring mechanically-assisted manual container sampling, which will enhance the level of intelligent supervision.
