By the end of May, Baotou city added 17,000 new jobs in urban areas, with a registered urban unemployment rate of 3.86 percent. Overall, the employment situation in the city remains stable.

Since the beginning of this year, Baotou has been committed to promoting high-quality and adequate employment, providing strong human resource guarantees for the high-quality development of the city's economy by ensuring employment, reducing the burden on enterprises, improving the quality of training, and securing the employment of key groups.

Baotou has implemented ten measures to safeguard employment, focusing on employment difficulties in characteristic and key industries. The city has proactively cooperated with labor-exporting areas such as Gansu province to deliver more than 260 workers to key enterprises in Baotou.

As of the end of May, the city had hosted 924 job fairs, serving 9,409 employers and offering free services 55,700 person-time, providing 13,000 people with jobs in key enterprises and major projects throughout the city.

Also, as of the end of May, over 11,000 college graduates have gained employment or started their businesses.

At the same time, Baotou issued entrepreneurial guarantee loans of 151 million ($21.13 million) to 280 entrepreneurs and 58 small and micro enterprises, creating employment opportunities for 608 people.
