The first set of comprehensive electricity-saving equipment in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was recently trialed at Baogang Special Steel Pipe Co in Baotou.
Under the watchful eye of professional technicians from both sides, the comprehensive electricity-saving rate reached 12.18 percent after the equipment was installed, with the electric load being less than 60 percent of the regular operating conditions.
This not only slashed the enterprise's manufacturing costs, bringing new profit growth for the company, but also contributed to alleviating the pressure on the power supply in the park.
A spokesperson for the company said more investment will be made in the future so that more equipment can use such electricity-saving devices.
The energy-saving equipment successfully broke through various technical barriers by Jiangsu Longsheng Energy Technology Co. The Jiangsu company set up its Inner Mongolia branch in Baotou at the beginning of this year.

Wang Jie, deputy general manager of the Inner Mongolia branch, said the homegrown equipment is 90 percent cheaper than comparable imports from overseas, while offering a stronger power saving effect.
It has already been applied to many well-known enterprises in various industries in the domestic chemical, automobile manufacturing, and equipment manufacturing industries, he said.
