Baotou city has recently won 7.65 million yuan ($1.06 million) from the natural science fund of Inner Mongolia autonomous region to support the development of its 71 natural science fund projects.

The fund has generously provided support to numerous esteemed institutions throughout Baotou, including Baotou Normal College, Baotou Medical College, Baotou Vocational & Technical College, and Baotou Railway Vocational & Technical College. A total of 52 projects were graciously funded, amounting to a substantial 4.62 million yuan. In addition, seven impactful projects from esteemed medical and health institutions, such as Baotou Central Hospital and Baogang Hospital, were awarded 890,000 yuan. Furthermore, 12 essential projects from Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute, Baotou Agricultural Science Institute, Baotou meteorological bureau, and various enterprises were granted 2.14 million yuan for basic scientific research.

Since the beginning of this year, the city has formulated and issued the "Implementation Plan on Reforming and Improving the Management of Municipal Financial Scientific Research Funds" to further improve the autonomy of project leaders in the management of scientific research projects and funds.

At the same time, the city has closely focused on the significant strategic needs of the autonomous region and the city and continued to increase support for critical basic research projects and scientific research teams.
