The weightlifting competition of the 15th Games of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was held in Ordos city, and the Baotou delegation won medals.

A total of 33 weightlifting categories were set up in this game, and 173 athletes from eight cities participated. Among them, Baotou city dispatched 11 men athletes and six women athletes to participate in 15 events.

On the first day of the weightlifting competition, Baotou weightlifters won three gold, one silver, and one bronze.

Wang Liqian, an athlete hailing from Baotou, achieved a remarkable feat on the second day of the competition by winning the gold medal in the men's Group B 61-kilogram category. He displayed incredible strength and technique by breaking the autonomous region's highest snatch record with a snatch of 121 kilogram. This was followed by a clean and jerk of 120 kilogram, ultimately leading to a total weight lifted of 241 kilogram.
