Equestrian endurance receives high acclaim in Baotou

An 80-kilometer equestrian endurance competition, sponsored by the Chinese Equestrian Association and hosted by the Baotou sports bureau, kicked off on the speed-riding track on Baotou's Saikhantal Urban Grassland on July 16.

Twenty equestrian celebrities and well-known entrepreneurs from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and other places came to participate in the event.

At the race site in the vast and green Saikhantal comes alive with dozens of riders and horses drenched in sweat, creating a captivating scene. As they navigate the challenging terrain, the equestrian endurance event takes on a new level of excitement and wonder in this grassland setting.

Sui Bo, an equestrian celebrity and chairman of Beijing Tiantuo Huaran Municipal Engineering Co, said, "Saikhantal's track has a certain challenge, and its complexity can be comparable to world-class ones. The venue is also very popular. I hope Baotou can hold more such events in the future."

Rider Li Quan from Hebei province said, "Saikhantal's track is very comfortable to ride. I will participate in Baotou races in the future."

The competition's ending marked the successful conclusion of the 2023 Baotou Equestrian Series.

In addition, between August and September, the city is set to host several equestrian events.
