Baotou attracts investment of $13b
Promoting coordinated regional development requires not only strategic planning but also orderly industry transfer. Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has successfully facilitated the signing of several large investment projects after rigorous negotiations.
The city of Hohhot in Inner Mongolia recently hosted the 2023 China Industrial Transfer & Development Matchmaking Activity. 47 enterprises from Baotou participated and signed 37 projects, resulting in a total investment of 92.04 billion yuan ($12.84 billion), making it the highest number of signing projects in the autonomous region.
Furthermore, Baotou plans to use this signing as an opportunity to focus on industrial transfer, graft traditional industries, develop emerging industries, lay out future industries, and build an industrial transfer cooperation platform for government and enterprise exchanges.
The city is set to prioritize the development of onshore wind power equipment, advanced metal materials, carbon fiber, polymer new materials, and new energy vehicles, while also promoting investment and innovation in these industries.
