Hurun Research Institute recently released the "2023 Hurun China New Energy Industry Cluster City List", which lists the top 50 Chinese cities with the highest concentration of new energy industry, and Baotou ranks 32nd.

It is reported that the list considers the development vitality of the city's new energy industry from three dimensions – the concentration degree of high-quality enterprises, the concentration degree of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the popularity of new energy investment.

The new energy industry is an important engine for promoting regional economic transformation and sustainable development. The degree of concentration of new energy enterprises reflects not only the advantages and disadvantages of a city's innovation ability and industrial environment, but also the city's development potential and competitiveness.

Baotou's inclusion on the list fully demonstrated that the city's new energy industry has strong development vitality and potential.

In recent years, the city has continuously optimized the energy industry structure and accelerated the concentration of enterprises in the new energy industry chain.

Last year, Baotou developed one of the first cities in China with an output value of more than 100 billion yuan ($13.92 billion). This year, the city was awarded the "World Green Silicon City" title by the Global Green Energy Council.

Baotou will build the world's most extensive crystalline silicon material production base and build a trillion-yuan-level photovoltaic industry cluster. At the same time, the electronic silicon and organic silicon industries will be laid out in the city, and the construction of the 100-billion-yuan semiconductor industrial cluster and organic silicon industrial cluster will be set up.
