The 33rd Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner Naadam Conference was held in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia, on July 27.

The opening ceremony is divided into two parts: an admission ceremony and some artistic performances. The organizers invited a number of performing stars to bring a wonderful cultural feast to the audience.

"The opening ceremony is very exciting and the scene is very grand. I am looking forward to the rest of the competition. It was the first time I've come to Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner, tasted the local food, and seen such distinctive songs and dances," Du Hai, a tourist from South China's Guangdong province, said after watching the curtain-raiser.

Naadam will run from July 27 to Aug 11. During this period, 12 traditional sports competitions such as boxing, horse racing, and archery will be staged.

In addition, the Naadam series of activities include the first "China Horse City" Horse Industry Forum, Grassland Electric Carnival and other culture and tourism activities, as well as food festivals, special tourism commodity exhibitions, investment promotions and other business activities.
