Baotou promotes development of vocational education

The "Industrial network intelligent control and maintenance" contest of the 2023 National Vocational College Skills Competition (Higher Vocational Group) kicked off in Baotou on Aug 14.

The National Vocational College Skills Competition is the most prestigious vocational education competition in China and is an important platform for improving the quality of vocational college personnel training and measuring the quality of education.

Over the four-day contest, 130 participating teams from 92 higher vocational colleges across the country will compete in Baotou.

The "Industrial network intelligent control and maintenance" contest will help reform teaching for equipment manufacturing majors, strengthen industry-education and science-education integration, and promote the high-quality development of vocational education.

Li Lufeng, a participant from Chongqing Electric Power College, said the contest was a good opportunity to broaden his horizon and improve himself, "This competition will greatly improve my practical operation abilities, which will help me find a better job."

Chen Zipei, a student majoring in electrical automation technology at Guangzhou Vocational College of Technology and Business, is full of expectations for the contest, "Participating in this national competition can teach us some new technologies and enhance our knowledge."

"This year, four contests of the national competition are being held in Inner Mongolia. The contest held in Baotou will enhance the ability of vocational education to serve the regional economy," said Lin Fuli, director of the Vocational Education and Adult Education Division of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Education Department.
