The Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone recently held a conference to announce major sci-tech achievements and innovative technological requirements in the field of rare earth functional materials.

During the conference, enterprises – such as Baotou JinHai Rare Earth New Material Co, Baotou Lichen Technology Co, and Baotou Pingao Permanent Magnets Materials Co – announced their technological requirements.

Research institutes in the zone also presented their sci-tech achievements in the optimization process of new rare earth hydrogen storage materials and application technologies, as well as the development and application of rare earth-modified hydrogen storage alloys.

According to the director of the zone's science and technology innovation bureau, the zone is now home to 158 research and development platforms. These include research and development centers, key laboratories, new research institutions, academician workstations, innovation consortiums, and industrial technology innovation alliances.

Meanwhile, the number of specialized talents in the zone has reached 1,821, providing a powerful driving force for innovation among resident rare earth enterprises.
