The final of the second China Baotou Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Aug 22.

After three sub-races within five months, 10 teams made the final, where they carried out a live roadshow.

The research, development and industrialization of special explosion-proof intelligent operation and maintenance robots won first place.

Three projects, including the research, development and industrial application of rare earth composite functional materials, won second place.

Five projects – including a nuclear industry safety inspection system and industrialization based on AI vision and acoustics and intelligent industrial robot controller with multi-mode integration – won third place.

A number of ceremonies – including academician keynote sharing, investment promotion ambassador appointment, investment discussion, talent policy announcement, and tutor appointment of Baotou Innovation and Entrepreneurship College – were also held at the event.

"This competition saw some innovative projects, and the development prospects of participating industries are bright, which will promote progress in science and technology in China to a certain extent," said Yan Wenbin, general manager and chief scientist of Inner Mongolia Light Technology Co.
