Baotou among China's pilot cities for 15-minute life circles
The list of Chinese pilot cities for 15-minute life circles was announced on Sept 6, and Baotou city was selected. Baotou was also among the first batch of pilot cities in Inner Mongolia autonomous region in this field last year.
The "15-minute life circle" concept means that residents can access essential resources within a 15-minute walk of their living area.
Since it started building 15-minute life circles in 2022, Baotou has continuously optimized the layout of community-based commercial outlets, improved the conditions for community-based consumption, and improved residents' quality of life.
In 2022, the city built 11 pilot life circles, covering 31 communities and 3,545 commercial outlets, and serving about 184,000 residents.
At the same time, the comprehensive satisfaction of residents in the pilot life circles reached 95 percent, supporting residents' consumption needs in these communities.
This year, Baotou will again select 19 communities in which to build life circles. It will strive to reach a coverage rate of 10 percent in the city's main urban area.
