As one of the activities of the 2023 China Silicon Industry Conference in Baotou, the discussion among enterprise experts from silicon industry enterprises across China was held as scheduled on Sept 12.
Lu Jinbiao, deputy director of a group of experts from the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association Silicon Industry Branch, presided over the discussion. Senior executives from Sichuan Yongxiang Co, GCL Technology Co, Xinte Energy Co, Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) Co and other enterprises in the silicon industry also attended.
The entrepreneurs first introduced the development of their respective businesses and elaborated on their future plans. Subsequently, they discussed the hot topics of concern in the industry such as the development pace of the silicon industry, market stability, and N-type silicon materials.
Ye Hongwei, investment director of Inner Mongolia Yitai Group Co, expressed concern about market saturation and overcapacity, the anti-risk ability of integrated manufacturers, and whether granular silicon was a good substitute for traditional rod-like silicon.
"I shared all my concerns during the talks. Through this activity, I learned there is still much room for growth in the market, and the technology of granular silicon needs some time to mature. Manufacturers should enhance their competitiveness by improving quality and controlling costs," Ye said.
"After listening to these leading enterprises, we have more confidence in the future development of the industry," said Mr Su, who works for a company engaged in downstream supporting equipment. He came from Guangzhou to attend the conference.
