Baotou gets involved in horse industry
Baotou has been actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of its local horse industry, with the goal of becoming China's Horse City.
Liu Zhiren, a senior counselor of the State Council and a researcher at the Rural Economic Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, is confident in the development of the horse industry in Baotou and hopes that Baotou will lead the transformation and upgrading of China's horse industry.
In recent years, Baotou has become involved in the equestrian profession and horse milk industries and has developed cultural tourism and infrastructure for the horse industry.
In 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the General Administration of Sport jointly released a national plan for the development of the horse industry. Baotou also signed a cooperation agreement with the China Horse Industry Association to jointly promote the high-quality development of the horse industry in Baotou.
Since then, the China Horse Industry Association has assisted Baotou in formulating medium- and long-term plans for the local horse industry, introducing competitions, and providing resources such as experts and platforms for international exchanges.
Baotou is on the way to becoming an important national hub for the breeding of Mongolian horses, horse tourism, and the trading of horse-related products.
