Mooncake is a famous traditional snack in China. The custom of eating mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival began in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and has been passed down to the present day.

In Inner Mongolia autonomous region, mooncake made of rock candy and linseed oil has always been very popular.

The mooncake is also popular in North China's Shaanxi, Hebei, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and other regions.

Today, people also add eggs, milk, sesame and peanuts to the mooncake, but still use traditional baking techniques.

People can also buy mooncake at shops throughout the year, as it is no longer just a seasonal food and is eaten regularly by many people.
