"The equestrian games at the 19th Asian Games are over, our work to guarantee the smooth running of the games is over as well. All that's left is helping the horses depart and checking the materials list. It was a wonderful experience." Those sentiments were expressed in a WeChat moment uploaded by Zhao Xu – a teacher at the Vocational and Technical College of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and a farrier at the Asian Games – on the evening of Oct 6, at the Tonglu Equestrian Center in Hangzhou.
On that day, the equestrian competition at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou ended in the center. The project was divided into three events of dressage, jumping and eventing, and each event was divided into individual and team items, for a total of six gold medals.
There were six farriers in the Asian Games to ensure that the horses' hooves were in tip-top condition. Among them, four were from the Vocational and Technical College of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University in Baotou city and the other two were from the UK.

Zhao Xu said, "I also accepted other media interviews during games and I felt that many people were very concerned about our position. China's horse industry is developing and we have a duty to do our job well and promote our college."
The Vocational and Technical College of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, built in 2010, is the first teaching base integrating equestrian and veterinary medicine in China. The college is also the home to China's first equestrian major in higher education.
After more than 10 years of development, the college has accumulated rich experience in horse breeding, horse training, veterinary services, organization and the planning of equestrian events – becoming a leader in the training of talent in China's horse industry.
At present, Tumd Right Banner in Baotou has been training talent for the modern horse industry, promoting the development of Baotou's horse industry and helping Baotou build its brand as "China's Horse City".
