Morning News program – simulcasted by CCTV's Channel 1 and Channel 13 – explained the rise of Baotou's crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry, showcasing the city's success in high-quality development.

Baotou has set its sights on the crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry, establishing a complete industrial chain and achieving rapid industry growth.

In just seven years, the industry has become one of Baotou's leading sectors, with continuous growth in production value, reaching 100 billion yuan ($13.71 billion) in 2022. This rapid development has not only strengthened Baotou's economy but also increased the scale of industrial production.

Baotou's success in the photovoltaic sector has attracted 50 photovoltaic projects, with production capacity expected to account for 40 percent of China's total. In the future, Baotou plans to further expand its industrial scale, establish a more comprehensive industrial chain, and focus on the development of the semiconductor and organic silicon industries, with the goal of achieving 100 billion yuan in production value in each industry within five years.

Baotou's crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry has achieved high-quality development and the city has established itself as a crucial hub for the national photovoltaic industry. This demonstrates how a city can achieve breakthroughs and create new opportunities in industrial upgrading and transformation.
