Five-star dining service units in Baotou praised

The Baotou bureau of market supervision awarded highly esteemed plaques to representatives of numerous dining service units on Oct 25, officially recognizing them as five-star dining food safety units.

It also billed 11 streets as food safety demonstration streets, in acknowledgment of the outstanding dining establishments in their jurisdiction as well as their exemplary food safety management.

The bureau also held an observation meeting, where the attending representatives visited Hondlon District Taiyang City Demonstration Street and the student cafeteria of Baotou Medical College.

The representatives also had the opportunity to hear about the advanced concepts and highlights of food safety management being deployed in their dining services.

Through Baotou city's dining intelligence supervision platform, the representatives were able to observe in real-time the food preparation processes in the kitchens. This showcased the advanced principles of food safety management adopted by these five-star dining units.

Yang Wenliang, deputy director of the bureau, provided insight into the process behind the star ratings at the meeting. He explained that they evaluated all 12,117 dining service units in the city from key perspectives, which included their being set up in compliance with top-level hygiene standards to ensure the cleanliness of dining areas.

Of these evaluations, 161 dining service units received a five-star rating, while 9,547 were rated at three stars or above.
