Baotou promotes farmland productivity
Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region held a major agricultural event – the Observation Meeting of Farmland Productivity Enhancement and Fertilizer Reduction – on Oct 27.
Its purpose was to underscore the significant achievements of the city in demonstrating projects related to green, high-yielding, high-efficiency agriculture – as well as the positive impact of new products, technologies and machinery on improving farmland fertility and soil conservation.
At the modern facility agriculture construction site in the city, smart greenhouses and integrated water and fertilizer technologies are injecting new vitality into smart agriculture.
In Xiaohou town, the great performance of the thickened plastic film recycling machine ensures the complete retrieval of residual plastic film from farmlands, significantly contributing to environmental protection.
Wang Siming, deputy director of the Economic Crop Promotion Center at the Baotou Agricultural Science Institute, provided a detailed introduction at the observation meeting.
It looked at the advantages of straw incorporation technology – including soil texture improvements – as well as enhancing field fertility levels and reducing the use of chemical fertilizers.
The observation meeting is understood to have encouraged farmers to embrace modern agricultural machinery and new technologies. This is to increase agricultural productivity, reduce environmental burdens, as well as achieve the green transformation of agriculture.
