Mandula Port exceeds 4 million tons of cargo throughput

Updated: 2023-11-02

As of Nov 1, the total import and export cargo volume at Mandula Port in Baotou city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has exceeded 4 million metric tons, setting a new record for the annual cumulative cargo volume since the port's opening.

In October, the Baotou bureau of commerce established a dedicated port video monitoring room. Staff members have helped to coordinate the organization of goods from Mongolia, managed various processes during customs clearance, and promptly resolved issues through methods such as unified port access, data information networking, and dedicated line communication.

October saw 23 clearance days, with a total cargo volume of 595,000 tons. On Oct 27, single-day cargo volume reached 35,000 tons, setting a new record for the highest daily cargo volume since the port opened.

Moving forward, the city will continue to promote infrastructure development and customs cooperation to enhance the port's customs clearance capacity and efficiency, aiming to transform it into a trade port with a cargo volume of tens of millions of tons.

Additionally, it will actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
