JA Solar Technology Co's photovoltaic component project in Baotou held its commissioning ceremony on Nov 2, attracting representatives from over 100 leading energy companies and research and design institutions nationwide.

After the ceremony, the invitees entered a production workshop and learned about the production process behind photovoltaic components, with a particular focus on the technology and processes applied, generating widespread interest.

Each solar panel in the workshop consists of 72 identical solar cells and features a unique QR code for traceability. The entire production process is highly automated, significantly reducing the need for manual labor.

JA Solar, one of the pioneering companies in the crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry in Baotou, was established six years ago.

Leveraging its advanced production technology and complete industrial chain, the company has achieved full integration from silicon ingot pulling and wafer slicing to component assembly, playing a pivotal role in the development of the crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry in the city.

The 5-gigawatt photovoltaic component project of JA Solar was completed in just 98 days.

Meng Zhongqiang, deputy director of the New Energy Department at China Energy Gansu Electric Power Design Institute Co, said Baotou is showing strong momentum in the field of new energy. He praised the forward-looking nature of the city's strategic planning for the new energy industry.

The success of JA Solar's Baotou base has already attracted more new energy companies to establish their presence in the city.
