Major PV module project put into operation in Baotou

JA Solar Technology Co's photovoltaic component project in Baotou commenced production on Nov 2.

Ding praised the project and stated that JA Solar, as one of the pioneering companies in the crystalline silicon photovoltaic sector, has played a pivotal role in advancing the entire industrial chain in Baotou.

He emphasized Baotou's commitment to building the world's largest crystalline silicon photovoltaic industry cluster, welcoming various enterprises and institutions to invest in Baotou.

Jin expressed gratitude for the favorable environment in Baotou that facilitated JA Solar's growth, and predicted the component project would stimulate the development of downstream sectors in the local photovoltaic industry.

The component project of JA Solar in Baotou, with a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($164.55 million), employs cutting-edge technology, intelligent equipment, and green low-carbon systems to produce the latest N-type high-efficiency component series.

Following the commencement of this project, JA Solar's Baotou base has established a production capacity of 30 gigawatts for crystal pulling, 20-GW wafer slicing, 5-GW components, and associated supplementary materials. The projected annual sales revenue is expected to exceed 10 billion yuan.
