Residents in Baotou – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – can now enjoy same-day deliveries for their cross-border online purchases, thanks to the launch of the cross-border e-commerce "1210" bonded stocking system in the city.
The "1210" bonded mode, also known as overseas bulk order procurement, allows cross-border e-commerce companies and platforms to send unsold goods in batches to regional bonded logistics centers before they head to the online retail market.
Under this system, the customs clearance is done for each item sold and unsold items do not require a customs declaration, allowing for direct returns. This bonded mode saves a significant amount of time in logistics and customs clearance processes.
On Nov 20, the first batch of cross-border e-commerce "1210" imported goods, valued at 2.87 million yuan ($401,660) – and dispatched from Hong Kong – arrived at the Baotou Bonded Logistics Center and entered the China (Baotou) Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
This signified the formal start of Baotou city's "1210" bonded stocking program.
The imported goods from Spain and Australia in the batch included products like body lotion, shower gel, baby diaper cream and personal care solutions. They're expected to be available on platforms like Tmall International and Pinduoduo.
As a result, customers can experience significantly improved logistics efficiency. Moreover, Baotou residents can enjoy fast, high-quality services with same-day ordering and deliveries.
