Baotou held a photovoltaic industry matchmaking conference on Nov 23, attracting companies along the industry chain and promoting collaboration between upstream and downstream sectors.
Known as the "World Green Silicon City", Baotou has gathered 13 leading domestic companies, including Shuangliang, forming a complete industrial chain with a 2022 output value exceeding 100 billion yuan ($13.99 billion), advancing towards becoming a trillion-yuan industrial cluster.
The downstream demand for crystalline silicon photovoltaics has rapidly increased, with significant gaps in supporting production capacity, especially in areas like silver paste, back panels, junction boxes, and eight other segments.
The matchmaking conference released detailed production capacity requirements, sparking interest among many of the attending companies.
Many participating enterprises, including Jiangsu Haitian Microelectronics Co which is engaged in producing junction boxes, revealed plans to establish factories in Baotou.
During the conference, many businesses found new ways to cooperate, addressing issues such as lengthy transportation cycles and high costs.
The local government emphasized Baotou's favorable business environment, encouraging companies to establish a presence there.
All parties collaborated to envision a prosperous future for Baotou's crystalline silicon photovoltaic supporting industries.
