This year, Baotou has promoted infrastructure construction at the customs clearance stage of Mandula Port and made improvements to the clearance process, maximizing the convenience for the development of enterprises.
It is understood that compared to just over 20 import and export trading companies four years ago, there are now more than 60 import and export trading companies registered for customs clearance at Mandula Port. Enterprises choose the port because of its favorable development trend and broad prospects.
"In the past, there was no pre-inspection overseas and no laboratory at the port. Samples had to be taken to the city center for testing, and it took three to five days to wait for the test results. The coal storage would reach its limit without a test report, and the coal could not be sold," said Yang Jinlu, president of the Mandula Port Mineral Association.
With overseas pre-inspection and customs documents for vehicles, customs clearance and cargo transportation can be carried out daily, and efficiency is increasing.
The construction of the inspection and quarantine building project at the port is underway, mainly for the inspection and testing of import and export goods, as well as the inspection and quarantine of animals and plants.
In addition, the port's freight corridor expansion project will build a six-kilometer two-way four-lane road and related facilities to meet customs clearance needs.
