Baotou Airport opens new cargo route
The O37657 cargo flight, loaded with goods, took off from Baotou Airport en route to Taiyuan and Ezhou on Dec 5. This marked the opening of the second cargo route by Baotou Airport, further expanding the city's aerial logistics capacity.
The newly launched Baotou-Taiyuan-Ezhou cargo route is operated by SF Airlines, which plans to operate five weekly flights. The cargo primarily consists of Baotou's specialty products, such as beef and mutton, and e-commerce parcels.
In July of this year, Taiyuan was designated by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance as one of the "2023 National Comprehensive Freight Hub Cities" for chain enhancement and support. The Ezhou Airport is a collaborative project between Hubei province and SF Group, serving as China's first specialized cargo airport dedicated to SF Airlines' cargo transfer and sorting center.
The opening of this air route was expected to improve the efficiency of cargo transportation, better ensuring the circulation of Baotou's distinctive industrial products.
Moving forward, Baotou Airport will focus on the demands of the aviation market, actively coordinating with airlines to optimize the structure of passenger and cargo routes, and creating a high-quality and efficient air traffic network for residents and businesses in the Baotou region.
