Chinese, intl experts discuss rare earth industry in Baotou
Recently, the Sub-forum on Green Metallurgy and New Materials of the "2023 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Inner Mongolia) was held in Baotou city.
More than 150 participants, including experts and scholars from Russia, Belarus, and Mongolia, as well as experts and enterprise representatives from relevant fields in China, attended the conference.
Following the opening ceremony, the conference featured keynote speeches.
Speakers included Academicians Wang Guodong and Mao Xinping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Luo Jingli, a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Song Shaoxian, a fellow of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, Professor Mildred Quintana of the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi in Mexico, Professor Yang Hong of the University of Western Australia, and Professor An Shengli of Inner Mongolia University of Science & Technology.
An academic salon was also held at the sub-forum, hosted by Professor Hou Xinmei of Beijing University of Science and Technology.
Experts and scholars conducted discussions on industry-education-research-application integration.
Topics discussed included mineral processing, resource recycling, low-carbon green metallurgy, rare earth separation and purification, integrated calculation for R&D of new materials, and industrial applications.
In addition, more than 40 experts and scholars from over 20 universities discussed the utilization of rare earth resources and new materials, green and low-carbon intelligent metallurgy, and the green development and utilization of strategic resources.
