The National Patriotic Health Campaign Office recently released the 2022 Healthy City Construction evaluation results, and Baotou city secured the 67th position out of 407 participating cities. It proudly earned the title of "Provincial Model City for Healthy City Construction".

In 1994, the World Health Organization defined a healthy city as "a city that is continually developing and creating an environment that supports a high quality of life and allows people to reach their full potential".

It is understood that being designated as a National Model City for Healthy City Construction is a great honor in China, as this is the most authoritative assessment of a city's comprehensive development in the area of healthy city construction.

Baotou was initially selected as one of the first "National Healthy City Pilot Cities" in 2016 and was recognized in 2019 as one of the top 10 cities nationwide for the fastest progress in healthy city construction, ranking first among all provinces.

This achievement is attributed to the city's commitment to the well-being of its residents. It continuously promotes healthy lifestyles, optimizes health services, enhances health security, maintains a healthy living environment, and fosters robust health industries.

Baotou has also implemented comprehensive interventions to address health-affecting factors, maintain health throughout a person's life cycle, and prevent and control major diseases.
