Baotou zone cultivates R&D platforms
Recently, five technological projects from four enterprises in the Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone have been included in the "China Excellent Technology" project database.
"The achievement is thanks to the implementation of the zone's R&D platform step-by-step cultivation plan," said an official from the zone's sci-tech innovation bureau.
In order to promote research in related industries, attract investment in key industries, bring in high-end talent, and facilitate the transformation of sci-tech achievements, the zone has introduced a series of R&D platforms. Through cultivation and development, these platforms have gradually become a driving force for technological innovation in the area. The zone currently boasts 168 R&D platforms.
Focusing on leading industries, the zone has collaborated with Chinese universities and research institutes such as Northeastern University, Dalian University of Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, and the Sinosteel Maanshan General Institute of Mining Research.
The zone has also formed five innovation alliances, including one related to high-performance rare earth materials. It aims to leverage the expertise of universities and specialized institutions to drive innovation and development in the fields of rare earth raw materials and functional materials.
Currently, the zone's enterprise R&D center has gathered 3,228 full-time research and development personnel, with a cumulative total of 1,235 R&D projects. The zone has achieved the transformation of over 500 significant sci-tech achievements, signing 46 technology project contracts.
