On the morning of Jan 16, the highly anticipated third session of the 14th CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee opened grandly at the Baotou First Workers' Cultural Palace.

A total of 318 committee members attended the meeting, meeting the required number.

Li Xinchun, co-vice chairman of the CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the standing committee of the CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee.

Li stated that the standing committee would conduct member-specific activities with higher efficiency and enhance work quality and effectiveness. These efforts will contribute significantly to accelerating the city's innovative development.

Hao Wen, co-vice chairman of the CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee, reported on proposal work on behalf of the standing committee.

Hao mentioned that the committee has closely focused on difficult issues concerning Party, government and the public since the second session of the 14th CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee on Jan 1, 2023. A total of 522 proposals were put forward at that time, with 432 cases being reviewed and accepted. The responsible units have actively adopted and implemented these suggestions, achieving a 100 percent response rate.

The content of the proposals effectively addressed the new expectations for the committee members to modernize Baotou. This involves the accelerated development of the city's rare earth and silicon industries; the transformation of traditional advantageous industries into high-end, intelligent, and green sectors; as well as the city's transformation into a hub for education, healthcare, and culture.
