The third session of the 14th CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee and the third session of the 16th Baotou Municipal People's Congress completed the agendas of their respective sessions and concluded victoriously on Jan 18 and Jan 19.

The third session of the 16th Baotou Municipal People's Congress elected Ding Kai, Hou Zhixue, and Jin Yongli as vice chairpersons of the standing committee of the Baotou Municipal People's Congress through a voting system. Li Yinan and 10 other congress members were also elected as members of the city's standing committee.

The session passed resolutions on a government work report, discussed the results of the 2023 national economic and social development plan, and set an implementation plan for its 2024 goals. Other topics of discussion included the execution of the 2023 budget and the budget for 2024, the work report of the intermediate people's court of Baotou, and the work report of the people's procuratorate.

The third session of the 14th CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee and the third session of the 16th Baotou Municipal People's Congress concluded with speeches by Zhao Jun, newly elected chairman of the CPPCC Baotou Municipal Committee; and Wu Yun, director of the standing committee of the Baotou Municipal People's Congress, outlining prospects for the city's future development.
