The scenic area has been preparing for this event for a year, introducing over 10 cherry blossom varieties from Wuhan, Nanjing, and other cities in China. It now boasts a total of over 1,000 cherry blossom trees, as well as a planting area of approximately 20,000 square meters.
In order to extend the viewing time, the planted varieties are divided into early, mid, and late-blooming types. This allows the different cherry blossom types to bloom gradually, so that visitors can enjoy flowers throughout the month.

Apart from enjoying the beautiful views, tourists can visit the Bibo Pavilion or Nanhai fishing village to indulge in a fish banquet.
Various thrilling activities are available in the scenic area, including parasailing, surfing, and diving. Tourists can also spend their leisure time picnicking, swimming, fishing, and taking photographs.
The Nanhai Wetland Scenic Area is conveniently located at the intersection of two international migratory bird routes. Hence, large numbers of migratory birds visit Nanhai every spring and autumn. April is when visitors to the area will see a peak influx of black-headed gulls.
Li Xuelian, director of the Business Department of Baotou Wetland Nanhai Scenic Area Development Co, stated that all activities in the scenic area are currently open, with additional attractions such as sea lion performances also in the works.
