Baotou city conducted a voluntary tree planting activity at a voluntary tree planting base in Shiguai district on April 10, with participation from government officials, enterprise representatives, and residents.

In addition to the base, various districts and counties in the city also implemented voluntary tree planting activities, with over 3,000 people in the city participating and planting more than 15,000 trees that day.

The tree species planted that day mainly included five types, including Chinese pine, spruce and elm. These species have strong adaptability and stress resistance, which can help maintain soil, conserve water resources, and improve soil quality.

Li Shijie, a local resident, participated in the voluntary tree planting activity for the first time. He said, "Participating in voluntary tree planting feels very meaningful. Today, I planted three Chinese pines. I hope the saplings grow strong, and if there are similar activities in the future, I will continue to participate."

The city has been advancing its sand prevention and control work since March 13, and plans to complete afforestation on land measuring 2.5 million mu (approximately 166,667 hectares) by the end of June.

As of April 9, the city has completed afforestation on 310,000-mu forests and grasslands, including the afforestation of land spanning 10,000 mu, nurturing forests covering 200,000 mu, and overseeing grasslands measuring 100,000 mu.
