Baotou's pioneering medicinal plant base gains national recognition
The Inner Mongolia Medicinal Plant Resources Conservation and Utilization Practice Base at Baotou Medical College was recently awarded the title of National Comprehensive Practice Experience Base for Higher Education Institutions.
After 15 years of development, the base now covers an area of 15,000 square meters and consists of seven parts, including a medicinal plant garden, a germplasm resource nursery, an intelligent greenhouse, a TCM and Mongolian medicine museum, a germplasm resource library, an artificial climate chamber, and a specimen museum.
It has been reported that the base undertakes nearly 200 hours of practical courses for nearly 1,000 students every year and provides science education for tens of thousands of people.
It also guides college students in conducting innovative and entrepreneurial research. In recent years, 35 award-winning projects at various levels of undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship competitions have been conducted at the base, with seven projects receiving national-level awards."
