The signing ceremony for the establishment of a literature teaching and practice base affiliated with the Lu Xun Literature Institute in Baotou was held in Beijing on May 8.
Baotou was the first city in the country to collaborate with the Lu Xun Literature Institute in setting up such a base.
The decision by the Lu Xun Literature Institute to establish a teaching and practice base in Baotou is the first step in creating several similar bases across the country. These bases will create a more extensive platform for literary education and training, thereby better fulfilling the important role of literature in inheriting Chinese culture. These bases will also promote national spirit and advance social progress.
As one of the cultural centers in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Baotou boasts profound cultural heritages and abundant literary resources. Following this signing, both parties will endeavor to collaborate in the field of literary education.
During the discussion, both sides engaged in extensive exchanges regarding future deepened cooperation. The Lu Xun Literature Institute is ready to fully support Baotou in nurturing its local writers.
It is worth noting that since its establishment in 1950, the Lu Xun Literature Institute has been the only national-level institution for training writers. It has nurtured numerous outstanding writers, including Mo Yan, Bi Shumin, Yu Hua, Wang Anyi, and Zhang Ping, among others.
